Ruth Joy Tak-Yan Wong (my granddaughter, born 2008/03/20)

黃德欣

Ruth was born at 2 pm on March 20, 2008. She weighed 7 lb 14 oz at birth. Her parents are Raymond Wong(黃燦智)and my daughter Melody Hung孔令韻).

Ruth was named after the Biblical Ruth who showed a firm determination to follow God. She was also named after her maternal great grandmother Ruth Wai-Ching Chow who served the Lord tirelessly all her life.

Ruth’s Chinese given name contains two characters: [1] “Tak”(德)means virtue. It is the designated middle name for all of the 77th-generation descendants after Confucius孔子as Ruth’s mother Melody is a descendant of Confucius. The word also sounds like the Chinese translation of the name “Ruth”. [2] “Yan”(欣)means joy. Ruth fully deserves this name as she started smiling with her mouth opened wide only one week after birth. She continues to smile and laugh everyday and gives joy to everyone around her. She is truly a blessing from God.

Her parents want her to be a virtuous and joyful person, firmly following the path of God and tirelessly working for the kingdom of God.
