Ruth was born at 2 pm on
March 20, 2008. She weighed 7 lb 14 oz at birth. Her parents are
Ruth was named after the
Biblical Ruth who showed a firm determination to follow God. She was also named
after her maternal great grandmother Ruth Wai-Ching Chow who served the Lord
tirelessly all her life.
Ruth’s Chinese given name
contains two characters: [1] “Tak”(德)means virtue. It is the designated middle name for all
of the 77th-generation descendants after Confucius(孔子)as Ruth’s mother Melody is
a descendant of Confucius. The word also sounds like the Chinese translation of
the name “Ruth”. [2] “Yan”(欣)means joy. Ruth fully deserves this name as she
started smiling with her mouth opened wide only one week after birth. She
continues to smile and laugh everyday and gives joy to everyone around her. She
is truly a blessing from God.
Her parents want her to be a
virtuous and joyful person, firmly following the path of God and tirelessly
