December 2011

Dear all,

I have formally retired in March this year, after working 32 years in the federal government of Canada. Now my time can be more dedicated to serving our loving Father in heaven.

Almost exactly two years ago, my wife Evangeline passed away after an 18-month struggle with an incurable form of lyphoma (cancer of the lymph). She now lives joyfully in heaven, waiting for me.

I am still busy in my retirement, teaching and preaching at churches, and directing and singing in choirs. For the last two years, I have preached on the average once a month. I continue to write news analyses for Herald Monthly (Chinese Christian monthly newspaper), which I have been doing for 22 years. Moreover, I greatly enjoyed teaching a Christian Ethics course in Canadian Chinese School of Theology at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto last summer. I hope to continue to serve our Lord wherever He leads me.

My book Outlines of Christian Ethics was published by Chinese Christian Herald Crusades in Canada in 2010. Both the Chinese and the English versions (MS-Word files) are available on my website:

In November, I joined a Christian group touring the Holy Land for two weeks. It was an inspiring spiritual journey that helps my spiritual life. I think every Christian should plan for such a trip.

My daughter Melody only worked briefly in her profession after completing a degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. She was married to Raymond Wong (a hardware engineer with Ericsson) in 2006 and now looks after two young children (3-year old Ruth and 1-year old Andrew). She also teaches music students (violin and piano) at home.

My son Stephen graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston in June this year, majoring in biochemistry. He decided to study something with greater “eternal significance”, working now on a Master of Divinity in Tyndale University College and Seminary in Toronto.

I hope to receive news from anyone whom I know. Please send me an email to kwing@rogers.com.
